Listening and Speaking
Listening: To pronounce, enunciate and articulate words with these sounds, listen to: Rhyming words, Punjabi Rhymes, and Punjabi Poems, Stories of Punjabi culture, Simple role-playing activities, Listen News in Punjabi. Daily classroom conversation in Punjabi and daily used words to build the vocabulary. Listen Numbers from 1 to 100 in Gurmukhi.
Speaking:Students engage in daily classroom conversations, where they practice speaking through sentences, discussing news, and storytelling, using commonly used words and various speaking activities.
Reading & Comprehension
Reading: Read the textbook stories by themselves more fluently., Read poems from the textbook and explain their meaning in Punjabi with help or without help. Read to the class their favorite passages to the class with right expression and pronunciation. Memorize a poem from the textbook., Learn Numbers from 1 to 100 in Gurmukhi.
Comprehension: Answer questions about the stories and poem read. Fill in the blanks with the newly learnt vocabulary. Use words in their own sentences. Summarizing the books and stories in their own words.
Grammar and Vocabulary
Grammar: These topics of the grammar can be taught and explained while reading stories and poems. Singular–Plurals, Masculine–Feminine, Noun–Pronoun, Adjective, Verb–Adverb, Proposition, Conjunction–Interjection, Proverbs–Idioms and Punctuation marks., Interrogative, exclamatory sentences Tenses–Present, Past and Future etc.
Vocabulary: Vocabulary from Punjabi book. Learn new vocabulary words and understand their meaning in the context in which they are used.
Writing and Projects
Writing: Writing sentences, paragraphs, essays, poems example Guru Nanak Sahib Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Visakhi, My mother, My Father, My Friend or My School, My favorite city or place etc.
Projects: Write a poem using rhyming words., Write an invitation for the celebration of a special day., Translate your favorite topic from English to Punjabi (eg. Game, Science, recipe etc), Make a board game or Crossword in Punjabi, Translate and illustrate a story in Punjabi or you can write your own short story..
