Syllabus

This is the Punjabi School Grade 4th syllabus document, which outlines the curriculum and learning objectives for the course. Duration: One Year

Listening   Listening and Speaking

Listening: To pronounce, enunciate and articulate words with these sounds, listen to: Rhyming words, Punjabi Rhymes, and Punjabi Poems, Stories of Punjabi culture, Simple role-playing activities, Listen News in Punjabi, and classroom conversation. Numbers from 1 to 75 in Gurmukhi.
Speaking: Students engage in daily classroom conversations, where they practice speaking through sentences, discussing news, and storytelling, using commonly used words and various speaking activities.

Reading  Reading & Comprehension

Reading: Read the Textbook stories by themselves help them to understand difficult words. Read poems from the Textbook independently. Read to the class their favorite passages with right expression and pronunciation. Learn new words/vocabulary and understand their meaning in context they are used. Learn Numbers from 1 to 75 in Gurmukhi.
Comprehension: Answer questions about the stories and poem read. Fill in the blanks with the newly learnt vocabulary. Find rhyming and opposite words for words relating to the stories and poems. Use words in their own sentences.

Writing   Grammar and Vocabulary

Grammar: These topics of the grammar can be taught and explained while reading stories and poems. (At very simple level to understand context). Proposition, Conjunction–interjection, Proverbs–Idioms, Tenses–Present, Past and Future for simple understanding for sentence forming and writing paragraph and understanding conversation. Interrogative, exclamatory sentences and Punctuation marks.
Vocabulary: Daily used words related to various topics such as: Games, Insects, Flower, Home Parts, Geography, Plants, Tools.

Vocabulary   Writing and Projects

Writing: Writing words, Writing opposite words, Writing small sentences, Writing paragraphs, etc.
Projects: Do craft projects correlating to reading, writing, listening, and speaking activities etc.

Gurmat Sikhya, Ardas (Full), Shabad Vidia Vichari and First 15 Paudian Jap ji Sahib.
